Ramona, I still have problems with 7.2 sticking at the start. It finally goes on after a while but takes a long time. Does the new version have a few bugs in it maybe?? Also, is there any way to bypass that box at the start that says Netscape 7.2 and all? Thank you.

    Hi Mike,

To bypass the splash screen at startup, add this to the Target path in the Desktop Shortcut:

    Right click the Desktop Shortcut
    Select: Properties
    Click on the "Shortcut" tab
Add one space to the end of the target path after the quotation mark ( " )
    Then type: -quiet -yourprofilename

By adding your profile name you will also bypass the Profile Manager. See if this helps with your startup. If you have a slower processor it does take Mozilla a bit longer to startup.

    Better

Ramona, I got rid of the splash screen. It seems like that helped. I do run a slower computer with Windows 98, 96 ram, and 166 mhz. So maybe it will be ok for now. Thank you.

Mike, your are lucky to be able to do anything with your system. The minimum requirements( meaning that it should work pretty well) are 233 Mhz and 64MB memory. It depends on what and how much you do. I had Win98, 350Mhz, and 128MB were barely enough, but I have cable, and the temptions are there.
A 166Mhz processor should be enough, if you are patient.

    Mike,

I run 7.2 on a 166 Mhz processor with only 64 MB SDRAM. The startup is, as you say, slooooow, but once it starts, I find it runs as well as Communicator 4.79. As Westside says, patience is needed...

    Working pretty good

Yes, I know my machine is ancient. Its all I can afford for now. I have had other Netscape 7.xs and they seemed to work well for basic stuff which is all I do. Thanks a lot for all your help.
