Freezing on shut down

    I formatted my harddisk to install windows xp pro and found that windows froze when it attempted to restart the notebook during installation.

    I turned off the notebook with the switch and found that windows continued installation without any problems

    After installation I have the problem that windows freezes on shutdown, and as far as I can see all drivers are closed before it starts freezing.

    My notebook a ASUS v1000 series , intel x86 family 6 model 8 processor and my bios is award version 0107g, 02-03-2001.

    Installing windows hotfix Q307274 did not solve the problem

    Any suggestions ?
