Can I swap an Intel P4 Northwood CPU with an Intel P4 Prescott CPU?

    I have a P4 Northwood 1.5G P4 installed in an ASUS P4B motherboard.

I would like to swap the Northwood CPU for a 2.4G P4 Prescott.

Can I just remove the Northwood and plug in the Prescott?

    Or are there BIOS changes?

Or is it just impossible/impractical to change.

Am using the MB in a Windows 2000 Workstation

    Thanks all for any help.

    Steve,

Thanks for that, but I think that spec was published before the Prescott was released.

You really wont do that processor justice with PC 133 RAM and a board that doesnt support Hyper Threading.
