Have enjoyed a painless transition from Mozilla Suite to FB/TB over the past month. But one feature I miss is "Send Page ". Fire Fox has the phrase, but when used, it only passes the link in the received email. For very important information, I "Send Page" to myself for archival purposes, in the event the URL changes / goes dark. I could "Save as ", but that would require an new "archive" approach
(yeah, I know that tiny violin is really playing loud  ).....
A feature of FFox, the "Mail" Icon.... I'm confused in it's function. "Read Mail or New Messages" options ONLY numerical reports new mesaages IF ThunderBird is already loaded. When I click on "Read Mail ", it opens up a new view to Thunderbird... or loads Thunderbird if not open. Am I overlooking the function of this icon... or is it just a shortcut to load the program?
Now that I'm done whining, I really like FF/TB. Having control over the toolbars and the endless extensions provide a "I like it my way" attitude. FFox response time is faster on some sites, but similar to Mozilla for many.

What are your expectations when you click "Send Page "? When I click Send Page, Mozilla Mail opens with the link inserted in the body of the Mail. I believe this to be the expected function of "Send Page" in Netscape and Mozilla.

It's a shortcut to open the Mail client.

    Cheers!

    Hi Ramona
My understanding of the two choices...
Send link ... sends the URL to email body... as does "Send Page"
Send Page.. also sends an "attachment " (snap shot) of the page.. equivalent to an "Save Page as ". Send Page attachment stores in email files, Save Page stored in a folder of your choice. When I only "Send link" (no other text) to a email, it is typically a 1KB email. When I "Send Page ", the resulting email is 40KB to 100KB. There is also an attachment file in attachments view area. This has been my experience in Netscape and Mozilla. But not Firefox, both Send page and Send Link send the URL to the email. To test I was seeing a local file of the "attached file view" I turned my cable modem OFF. I then clicked through a dozen emails that contained the attached file views of web pages. The email displayed a duplicate view of the the web page. If you like I can send you one from my email archive. Depending on the date, it would have originated in Netcape 6x, 7.0 or Mozilla 1.5 through 1.7.

    UPDATE --
Before I posted this response, I figured out how get it to work in Firefox. I must manually input the the URL into the "Attachments / Web page" options when I'm in the email. Certainly not as convenient, but it gets the same job done. If I remember, Thunderbird has an "Store attachments" option somewhere. Will have to find it and see if this can automate the process.
You're good Ramona, you got me to get off my duff to figure this out.
    Thanks :D

I have a drawback, that I do not accept mail with attachments, and the Mail button in Firefox may or may not open the default mail client.
My default mail is Netscape, and the mail button in Firefox does not do a thing in reading mail, but the Send Mail will open Netscape Mail, and will have a link to the open page. I would not bother with that. They will have to come up with a better way to link Firefox, to anything.
