    Hi,

I convinced myself (and my customer) that MS Office was the way to go due to it's integration with each component part BUT.........

I have created an Access DB part of which contains Customer Names/Addresses, email addr and Fax Numbers. I thought that by using the MS Word mail/merge feature that it would be simple to send a broadcast email or fax to selected customers. MS does not seem to provide a fax facility and email is via OE.

The only fax option that seems to work is to import a txt file into Cheyenne Bitware as an Address File and use it's send fax/broadcast facility. Creating a separate address book is not good as it will soon be out of date and will need to be constantly refreshed - not elegant when there is a perfectly good DB available!

Email seems to have the same problem and will need another Address Book.

Does anyone know of a way that the data in Access can be seamlessly used as Address Books to send fax or email?

    Regards

    Tony Randell

I don't know of any other way except for exporting as a .csv file or tab delimited file and importing into which ever program you wish to use, if Outlook Express as a new address book it will probably be located here, C:\WINDOWS\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book

The .wab file then can be use as its own type of database, able to open at the double click, then exported to other programs or as .csv

If importing .csv is a problem for other programs, import into excel, this will give you, by your own inspection of where the problem lies (the broken lines) then go back to original copy & change the commas or tabs or spaces. Then re-export as .csv
