A positive effect of SP2 in my experience is that the wireless signal strength between desktop with SP2 and Laptop with SP2 seems to be better using the Intel 802.11b wireless protocol. I read that wireless has been improved in SP2, and it shows. Will need to monitor it a while longer, but early indications are positive.

Those that say SP2 is nothing more than a glorified security update are certainly wrong.

    That's interesting.

I always disable windows wireless management and use the wireless card's supplied utilities because I have had so many problems with windows and wireless.
I may have to rethink that.

It may be worth a try. On my desktop (tower) I installed the appropriate driver for the PCI wireless card, but only used the default windows software for setup etc. This was prior to SP2. I found the supplied cards software was a bit problematic and really didn't do anything more than what XP wireless software did. I did install an XP wireless "service pack" of sorts from MS that may or may not have helped. That would now be incorporated in SP2 as well.

Of course it all depends on our particular hardware and software setups. ;) but probably worth tinkering with?
