when i am browsing through "my computer" or "start --> all programs" often when i right click on a file, folder or shortcut or highlight it and select delete, explorer.exe closes. i used to have to reopen it via ctrl+alt+delete but recently it has been automatically restarting but with the open window (eg. my computer) closed. this usually only occurs on folders in "Program Files" and a solution is often to go into the folder and delete the files at their lowest level before deleting the base folder up the tree. this is very tedious and has occasionally resulted in me having to reinstall programs so as to have every file there ready to delete manually before the folder accepts that all files are gone and it can be deleted. has anyone got a solution/patch etc?

    Thanks,
    Nick

Try getting more information as shown in This thread. Should help us help you without a lot of wild guessing that causes extra work and doesn't help.
