Hi folks, I have not used sysedit for a while. Now it always crashes with a
fatal exception in win32(05) vxd - which doesn't exist on this or the
other PC (copy of this one). sfc shows no corrupt files and a reg restore
and clean = same problem. Cannot find anything sensible on the net.
    Very odd that one.
    Regards
PS How do you take a screen print of a blue screen ?
    Digital Camera ? :D

Hi All, Sorted this one out in 2 hours ... (OK ! I am a lot older and slower
    than you :) )

Open the nvidia 3D desktop Utility in control panel
(assuming you have an nvidia G-Force video card)

View the settings and disable the desktop utilities/desktop manager.

Interesting is, that I did not just find the solution by myself - I gave up
a couple of days ago when I could find nothing wrong with sysedit or the files it opens.
There are some kind folks out there that post solutions based on the error
message you get with a fatal exception error.
In my case, I searched for the error 0028:C02AA20CC and came up with
the cause and solution as mentioned above.
Here is the site that helped me
There are quite a few board members who report fatal exception errors
and I can recommend them to make a note of the above search method and the link I posted to see if there is a suggested solution.
I hope the folks at Nvidia do something in response to my mailed complaint.
    regards

    merlin, You posted the following:
:) There's a correction needed that may have been incorrectly hit by that 'Ol fickle finger of fate on the Keyboard.
The error Code posted should read as follows: 0028:C02A20CC ;)

BTW that's an excellent site you pointed out.

Hi rdreed, Thanks for the correction - I thought it didn't look right,
but could not check it as I don't have the error anymore :) and had
    cleared the clipboard history.
There are a lot of sites that come up if you search for vwin32 vxd
    - don't type vwin32.vxd of course ....
    regards
