Hi, I was wondering if it was possible to make the the start menu (after you click start) opaque. I have a tweaking program and some knowledge of general windows tweaking on my own, but can't seem to find anything about it. I also have never seen a screenshot of an opaque start menu, so that is why I doubt it is possible. The only thing I can think of is if there is a windows theme that will do it. Speaking of themes however, I have one installed, but it just changes the normal stuff (Taskbar, My Computer/documents/recycle bin icons, etc.). My friend however had this full on mac theme that changed everything such as boot screen, logon screen, icons, the whole bang. He installed sp2 and for some reason had to uninstall, and when he did, it took him about 20 minutes to startup and he had no taskbar or anything, and he had to format. I was wondering if I am safe to install sp2, although I will probably format before hand anyway. Thanks for your help!

This is a major update. In some other situations it might be considered an upgrade. I highly recommend that people GHOST their system beforehand.

SP2 works quite well. But there is the possibility that something could go wrong and it might have to take a couple of tries.

Ok, I think I will do that before I install sp2, but I am going to wait a while anyway incase the is any kind of problem that they end up patching soon. Anyway, so is it possible to make the start menu opaque?

Not unless there is some sort of 3rd party hack.
