If you have no XP disk, how did you perform the first suggestion in this thread, to run SFC? That alone might have corrected your problem. If you didn't do it first, you have wasted a lot of time.

Alright, I found my disk's cd key, and i reinstalled windows. It SEEMS to have corrected the problem so far, but I can't be entirely certain. Thanks for the help!

Thanks for posting back and letting us know how it turned out. I was hoping you would be able to avoid the new install, but sometimes, especially with freeze problems, you just can't nail down the issue causing the problem. Come back if you have any more trouble!

    ;) You're welcome.

This thread is a bit old now, but HyperGuy, if your still alive :) and more importantly still have the randon lockups then I suggest you go into your BIOS and set PNP OS to NO. It's probably set to yes which would seem the obvious choice.
An old Celeron 466 on an Aopen AX6BC Mobo I've resurected was freezing occasionally. It didn't like XP. Seems changing PNP OS to NO has fixed it.
