:D Hi, Y'all, I am being reminded by my Toshiba Notebook, by way of 'beeps', that my system is having trouble loading or initialising certain files.

Upon checking the 'bootlog.txt' file, I find the following :

    [000C87F5] Loading Vxd = ndis2sup.vxd
    [000C87F6] LoadFailed = ndis2sup.vxd

    [000C8E1A] INITCOMPLETE = SDVXD
    [000C8E1B] INITCOMPLETEFAILED = SDVXD

The 'ndis2sup.vxd' file is present in my Windows, Systems Folder.

The SDVDX item is nowhere to be found on my system.

Any ideas as how to correct this problem ?

    Scotsjames.

It is not uncommon to see those lines in bootlog.txt. There are a few bugs in the Windows 9x startup process. I have those same exact lines, and my system is working normally.
I believe your problem is elsewhere, and may be just a memory stick going bad.
If the laptop is beeping when you boot up, and if this is occuring before you see 'starting windows 98', this is indicating a hardware failure. This beeping may be in a pattern, or just a series a beeps.
The first link may be what you need to see to match up what you are hearing.
