I am running Mozilla 1.7.2. I went to Mozilla's website and checked their forums. Seems a lot of people who downloaded the new Adaware SE are having problems with the program recognizing a critical file in Mozilla as malware. If it is deleted as suggested, they cannot get back into Mozilla and have to re-install the program. Anyone have any more info on this. Does the new update address this?

Jeane: I don't know if it's the same thing, but after downloading the new AA SE 1.02 yesterday, when I tried to start my Netscape 7.1 browser this morning (which uses Mozilla) it wouldn't load and I got an error message telling me that the mozz.dll file was missing. The alert froze my system and I had to restart. I had a back-up copy of mozz.dll in another partition and copied and pasted it into the NS 7.1 folder and everything's worked OK since.

I also had a Norton AV alert pop up while I was downloading the earlier AA SE 1.01 Tuesday. A Trojan.ByteVerify had been caught and isolated, so no harm done.

Different people seem to be having different experiences with the new SE. Was the mozz.dll file the item affected by the malware you read about?

Yes, Mozz.dll is the file. Also, others have said they deleted a file called "I Won" or something, and that deleted the Mozz.dll file without their knowing. I think I will wait to download the new AA SE.

Well I'm happy to say I had no problems with AAWSE 1.02 and Mozilla 1.7.2.

I finally got the email for the new SE and DL'ed it. I uninstalled AAW Plus 6.181, then rebooted and installed SE and ran the scan.

It found my IE start page is set to about:blank (I do it on purpose) and thought it was a browser hyjack attempt. It also found another thing called a data miner which it quarantined.

My default browser is Mozilla and I have had no problem with it.
