I'm using Mozilla Firefox browser, plus Ad-Aware, SpyBot, SpywareBlaster, SpywareGuard and Spysweeper. Is Macromedia Flash Player considered safe from spyware so it could be used with my Firefox, or for that matter IE if desired? I know SpywareBlaster has a kill switch for an option if I wanted to disable it.
Also will ActiveX have to be enabled in IE, which I currently have disabled after reading several forums? I'm a little paranoid about adding anything that might have spyware since I recently had some that was very hard to get rid of. Thanks!

Don't take this as the final word but as far as I know, the only thing you get from Macromedia Flash Player is the ability to play their flash files.

That being said, I do use the kill feature in spywareblaster to block it most of the time since it runs some very annoying pop-ups - but those are because the web sites have the stuff lurking there to run when you surf in.

If I want to look at a flash thing, I open spywareblaster, uncheck the Flash block, close teh spyware blaster window (since minimizing it doesn't complete the unblock), play the flash, then turn the blocking on again. I see lots less junk than I did before.

I think you also need to have ActiveX controls Enabled/Permitted in order to see Flash content.
