I am running XP Pro and last night I burned a copy of my HDD (40GB) to my Plexor 708A burner using CD's because it would not copy correctly to my DVD media (Phillips DVD+R), and I had to use 12 CD's. After everything was completed successfully, and the image was verified sucessfully, I tried to view some files using Explorer. When I opened it up, it told me to insert the 1st file of the span, then it told me to insert the last file of the span, then it said to insert the first, then the last.....so on and so on...1st, last, 1st, last....after a 1/2 hour of this I gave up! What is happening here? I have no experience with Ghost and I just wanted to see if everything was really there where it was supposed to be(my files and all)....could anyone help explain this to me, and tell me what I need to do in order to view my files in Ghost Explorer. Thanks in advance for your help!

Thanks for the response. I have read that and it is a great place to learn about how to use Ghost, but it does not explain how Ghost Explorer is used.
I still am at a loss on how to view my images.

When You load an Image in Ghost Explorer and the Image is of an NTFS partition, there is a warning that all segments of the spanned Image should be available at once. If not, excessive disk swapping will be necessary.

On a NTFS volume, one part of each file is stored within the Master File Table and for files larger than 4 kB (?), the rest is stored elsewhere. This means that Ghost Explorer has to read the MFT entry and the rest of the file in sequence ...... ...... which means that the disk in a single tray has to be swapped endlessly to read the whole volume.

Creating and restoring the Image equals copying the contents but exploring means reading and that's a different matter.

I've never tried but there is a chance it will work if You put the two spans currently prompted for in two different trays (CD and DVD or whatever You have).
