My sister is having a problem accessing a certain portion of the Sears web site. In IE she gets a "Bad Gateway" error but when I try the same link with IE, it works fine. Is there something in her IE settings that needs to be set/unset?

Here is her message describing the problem:
    ***
When I go to http://sears.ca/ using Internet Explorer, and click on "Order From a Catalogue" it says "Bad Gateway..." yet when I do the same in Netscape it goes to the proper page. Any idea why?

    Thx,
    m.

Some good information on "bad gateway 502" errors on this page.

One thing is says, "This problem is entirely due to poor IP communication between back-end computers, possibly including your Web server. Only the people who set up the network at the site which hosts the Web server can fix this problem. "

Yeah I found that site too, but it doesn't really answer the problem. If it was their web server then it wouldn't work for me either. <shrug>

If your sister is on a different ISP and/or lives in a different part of the country, she isn't going through all the same servers you are. From what I gather on that page, it could be a server anywhere down the line.

I was thinking that, but then why would it work fine with her Netscape but not when she uses IE. Still seems to point at the IE browser setup.

Well, oddly enough I tried going to the site myself today and now I get a 'not found' error for several of the links on their site. Methinks they have a server problem on their end <shrug>.
