Dial up networking doesnt work

    Windows 98 was recently reinstalled, wiping everything from my computer. I had to reinstall drivers and stuff. But when it came to reinstalling btyahoo broadband, it said it couldnt create a dial up networking entry due to it not detecting my modem. My modem has been installed correctly and is working correctly. I was told to reinstall dial up networking, but when i tried it said it couldnt find a file called cchat22.inf. Please help :(

    Hi...

    To the best of my knowledge, "Cchat22.inf" should not have anything to do with a standard dialup networking installation ....are you sure something else is not looking for that file?

    This is a guess...
    Shooting from the hip....
    The name "Cchat" would infer a Chat type program.
    The limited info per Google seems to relate to a "Web type Chat service ".
    Web type chat services generally rely on "Java ".
    Does this "ring any bells" to connect the dots?

    Yep

    Yep, it was for a chat thingy. Virtual net meeting or something. So i cleared the check box and it installed fine. thanks
