I am having a problem with windows xp restarting when ever it feels like it. I send an error report and then it tells me that it is a driver problem. I looking in the device manager and there seems to be nothing wrong. can anybody help?

Can you copy and post the error here?

Definatly paste what the error reporting thing told you..
If you want to go a step further, set it up in your recovery options to write a 'Kernel Memory dump' file out, and follow the directions from THIS POST and reply here with the data.

    Um

Now when windows restarts it doesnt give me a error reporting option anymore. I dont want to to reinstall windows because I play everquest and dont want to download any of my expansions again. I dont know if the repair console will work. Any suggestions?

Disconnect all peripherals and start in Safe Mode. Turn off auto restart. (Control Panel/System/Advanced/Startup and Recovery
    uncheck auto restart) Reboot.

Run a System File Check with your XP cd.
    Start > Run > cmd
    sfc /scannow

Begin connecting printers, scanners, etc one at a time, rebooting in between.

If you get another error during any of this, write it down exactly and post it here.

I found out that it is the graphics driver that is causing the system crash. But now what do I do.

Start over - remove the video card through Device Manager, all associated software through Add/Remove Programs, reboot and reinstall according to manufacturer's instructions.

Worthwhile checking web site for latest drivers.

Also search the Board for Nvidia .... - others have had driver problems with Nvidia.

    Fixed

Sorry for the late reply but I found that if I roll back the driver to the one that came with the card there is not a problem witht the restarting.

Glad to hear you sorted the problem - thanks for posting back.

The latest drivers do not always work on your setup - had a similar problem with Matrox - not with restarting, but odd video effects sub Windows on start up.
