    Hi:

    We got a real mystery.

When visiting web sites we ocassionally click on the sound file.

    1. If the site uses Windows Media Player, then the sound is good.

    2. If the site uses Real One Player, then the sound is good.

    3. However, if the site uses Quick Time - then we have a problem.

The file plays using Quick Time.
But the sound is in "Fast" mode.
Have not been able to play normal speed sounds using Quick Time.

Our OS is Windows XP Pro.

Thanks for any help - it would be nice to get Quick Time working properly.

What version of QT is on your machine, and what version of QT encoder was used on the site audio? Sounds like some sort of incompatability.

I gather this happens on more than one site?

Have you tried uninstalling QT and loading the latest. Think it's v6.3?

*EDIT* Further investigation points to wrongly encoded MPEG4 files uploaded to the streaming site. If your problem is happining on many sites then that theory probably gets blown away? I'd still uninstall and reinstall though.

    Got it fixed !

    We checked out the version.
    That was OK.

But your usage of the term incompatibility triggered a thought.

So, we got out the mother board CD and reinstalled the sound features .

Quick Time works good now - it was the driver that was messing it up.

    Thanks

It's never what you first suspect. :D
    Glad you got it going.
