    Dear Sirs,

Wondering how I can use my already Run Coax to wire a small network from my Garage PC to my House PC. THis is the skinny. The Ethernet wire (Cat 5) run to the Garage when the wiring was done some time ago is damaged and cannot be used. I set up a computer in the garage and would like to network it with my one in the house. The only wiring I have in that path now is Coax. Can this be used. Both PC's are running Windows XP Pro SP1. I think I would just need a Router or a hub along with 2 Coax able Network Cards...Not even sure if this is do-able as I am more familiar with Ethernet type networks. I thought about wireless not sure if it would work due to the distance and wall obstructions...not sure. Any help on resources, leads or ideas on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time. Have a great day!!!

    JJ

    Hi JJ,
Is this coax from cable tv by chance? I don't know if you can still get the item's you'd need in a coax configuration.
This is what I'd do. I'd try wireless or go buy a roll of cat5 and pull it to the garage.

    cable / coax

Yes, it is coax cable the same as used for TV. I didn't want to pull cable ....again if I didn't have to as it would be a major job now...
