    Hey guys,

after about a month of tweaking my XP, i have a few things I can not tweak to my liking

    1) In the "Taskbar' I want to get rid of the "local area connection icon" I cannot find this ANYWHERE. I don't use lans, and I won't be using this icon anytime soon.

    2) Sometimes when I get disocnnected from the web (or when a progrma needs to connect) a little "connection window pops up. It gives some local ISP number I put in when I first installed XP. I am sick of this window appears, and no matter how many times I click "Never dial a connection" this window always seems to come up. Any ideas?

you guys rock, keep up the awesome work!

For the first one, right click on the icon, select Status, then Properties, take the tick mark out of the "Show icon... "

Open up Dial-up-networking, and remove that connection.
You can also get to it by opening Explorer, and looking way down on the left side (in folder view). Just delete that connection.

    Yea, but,...

I'm having the samy anoyance from time to time. I'm on a DSL connection but have dial-up connections to my ISP defined for those occassional times when my DSL is down. So, I don't want to delete the dial-up connections. It seems that whenever there's a delay in getting a page using IE 6 it pops up the dial-up connection dialog. It doesn't happen often, but I don't understand why it's happening at all when I do have a connection and also have selected "Never dial a connection" in the Internet Options dialog. Any ideas?
