    Hi qwert,

Removing SR is a terrible idea unless using disk imaging software.

    Hi Charles,

It's easier to image system partition than waste resources on it. Do you agree? :)

    Hi qwert,

Can't answer about how "easy" it is - don't use Imaging software. People like Christer, for example, use Ghost which he likes and is effective.

My point is, that w/o the qualifier of an alternative method of backing the OS up, getting rid of SR is bad advice.

    Regards - Charles

I have yet to find a situation that SR would have it resolved. If systems gets ****ed, it gets ****ed. Plain and simply. I'm not talking about "revert microsfot office installations" nad such ;)

In fact, after removal of SR and other junk like (PCHealth... like I got that kind of paid ms support... anyone?, movie maker) that installation worked straight for a year without a slightest problem (even no images restores were conducted)
Of best uptime being 9 days something. For a 9x with load I put it under it was a great result.

Point being is that removing the ^ features does prolong user experience of WinME. **** and over.

    Besides the point.

SR reverts the OS to a state right before an RP - whatever that state was.

Restoring an image will revert to a state whenever the image was made - whatever that state was.

Looking at your answer, its more appropriate to a re-installing of "factory settings" with a restore cd. So, agreed, I'm not talking about that either.

    Regards - Charles
