As I mentioned in other threads, I have just had to reformat my hard-drive and start all over. I downloaded Mozilla, which I used before, but I am having a problem with composing emails that I have never seen before and am not sure I can describe coherently. I will be typing along and need to backspace to correct something. The cursor sometimes skips back over the word and even though I can usually return it to the place where I need to make corrections, it does not let me type normally. It will place letters on the screen that I did not type, the cursor will back up into the word, but when I start typing, the typing appears elsewhere on the page, and it will not let me block or delete the mess. When I try to backspace over the problem, it starts deleting lines below the text that I'm typing. I hope that's not too incoherent, but it's a weird thing to see and even weirder to try to describe.

Any thoughts on what to do to resolve this? TIA!

    Hi Rose Queen,

Would you remind me which version of Mozilla you're using? I must say, that sounds very weird, but I have had a few quirks when typing a message. Nothing that bad, however.

It's 1.7, right off the Mozilla website. It's getting quite frustrating to try to compose an email message, but I finally wore Dell down this afternoon, so they're sending me a new computer. I'd bet you anything it's the PC as much as anything. However, before I reformatted the hard-drive, I had Netscape and then changed to Mozilla. The transition was seamless, but Mozilla behaved differently (and better) then, whereas what I have currently was downloaded onto a reformatted hard-drive.

When I get the new computer, I may just go back to Netscape -- I only changed over because I thought that might be the problem with the computer. Still, if you have any ideas for making it behave better until the new computer arrives, I'm all ears!
