I'm looking for a reliable vendor to buy either a Maxtor or WD 20GB/7200 rev. HD. This is going to be a second HD I'll add (not permanently) to install WinXP and try different software.

If d/l a file or program, I like to know that, if I'm not happy with it, I can completely delete any traces of that file. Some programs that are d/l *tie-in* with dll files and are *locked-in*.

Figure this way if the program's what I really want, I'll add it to my main OS.
(Just a quirk of mine, I guess).

Thanks, Steve, I'll look into that. I do have Acronis True Image - works fine.

Trident - Don't forget to look in such unobvious places as OfficeMax and OfficeDepot. Back in the spring I got a terrific deal on an 80GB 7200rpm WD on sale for $20 (after instore and mail in rebate). :D

Bob: Thanks! I took Steve's advice -checked out newegg and ordered a WD 20gig - that size will do for what I want.

Saved the info you gave for future needs - just in case! Thanks again.

Trident - Newegg's A-one in my book. Ordered all the parts and peices for this rig I built awhile ago from them without a hitch and the service is quite good.
