    Confused about XP remote desktop!!

Is there a page somewhere that explains it in plain language (cos i havn't found one yet??

Me and a friend have all the "ipconfig" stuff and want to use it BUT can't for some reason (of which we assume is a config problem). I have XP pro and he has XP Home but both have remote desktop option and (of course) the wizard.

I guess what I need is someone to explain it step by step so i can get it into my dumb-butt head.

    Ex:
if i want to start-up the remote thing and assume i want to help or fix something on his puter, what exactly what do i enter in my wizard AND then what does he enter in his so we can use this feature??

    Thanks

Take a look at this Learning Unit and see if you get the answers you need.

Also look at Labmice and their How-To.

Also bear in mind that while there are a number of remote control / remote assistance programs out there, "Remote desktop" is strictly on XP Pro. XP Home does not have it. You can use Remote Desktop from the XP Pro system to work on the XP Home system but not the other way around.

If you have specific questions after going thru the the above, post back.

They are written pretty well in English as opposed to Tech.
