    Hi Bobbob10,
    Try Start > RUN > chkdsk c: /f /r
You will have to reboot, but this command will run chkdsk and reset the key which causes DK to say a check is scheduled.
    It worked for me anyway!

    Hey bobbob10...

Use the chkntfs c: to display the file system type, the status of the file system dirty bit, and whether or not Chkdsk is manually scheduled to run against the volume at boot time.

If no CHKDSK scheduled then I get...

    C:\>chkntfs c:
The type of the file system is NTFS.
    C: is not dirty.

I then manually got my system to run a CHKDSK using the standard CHKDSK C: /F at next boot and now when I run CHKNTFS C: I get...

    C:\>chkntfs c:
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Chkdsk has been scheduled manually to run on next reboot
    on volume C:.

If you use CHKNTFS /D command it will restores the computer back to default

After running CHKNTFS /D on my PC I then did a CHKNTFS c: again and now I get...

    C:\>chkntfs c:
The type of the file system is NTFS.
    C: is not dirty.

Here are a couple links to the CHKDSK and CHKNTFS commands and switches...

    Hi Kent,
I had the same problem as Bobbob10 twice. Both times after using PM 8.0. Neither time did chkntfs find a dirty bit, and running chkntfs /d wouldn't fix it either, so I shall be interested what bobbob posts back.
Both PM and DK seem to think that a chkdsk has been scheduled when it hasn't.
We need the help of a code monkey to find out why!

    Hi Bobbob,
Yes, it will tell you that the disk is in use and has to be dismounted.
As Dobhar said, run chkntfs /d , it should put it right.
