AVG will not work with Incredible Mail

Hi,
I have been trying to Install AVG (free version) on a Windows 98 computer that uses Incredible Mail instead of Outlook Express and even though the steps to proceed with are received in the mail box, the message from AVG just sits there no matter how many times I click on it. I am wondering if Incredible Mail and AVG are not compatible with each other. I have installed AVG on several computers (none of which use Incedible Mail) and this was the first one with this type of problem. As usual any suggestions will be greatly appreciated...Thanks.

 

You are not too clear on what you are trying to do. If you are referring to the email that gives you the download link, right click on it and Copy it, or Copy Shortcut, and Paste it into the Address Bar of your internet browser.

I am not too sure what you are trying to do but if it is configuring IM (are you sure you want to use IM?) to work with AVG. The best thing to do is look at the pictorial instructions on AVG's site as it is rather lenghty to detail in words! AVG & Incredimail

I guess I'm not being as clear as I thought so lets run it from top to bottom and see if it makes better sense:

When you go to the AVG site (called Grisoft), and download it to your computer, it sends an email to your email address. You then go to your email inbox and click on the acknowledgement that will complete the download.It is here that the problem lies, I can not get it to acknowledge and complete the download. Then after that step is completed, another email is sent with a serial number that you will need that will complete the Installation of AVG. I have installed AVG on several computers but because this particular computer uses Incredible Mail instead of Outlook Express, I was wondering if after three tries to do this, if it's a problem within the Incredible Mail set up where for some reason it will not accept it. Hopefully now that draws a better picture...

 

I would say that Incredimail doesn't handle URL associations very well.
