I have a number of pictures saved in the My Pictures folder and are from various sources, ie scanner, digital camera, downloads.

Recently I decided to change screen saver and to my surprise I found one listed I hadn't seen before, it is named "My Pictures Slideshow ". It consists of pictures from the My Pictures folder, but not all of them.

The only thing in slideshow format I have creadet was a CD with software that came with my HP Printer called "My Memories Disc ".

I would like to make some changes to the slideshow now one of my screen savers but have no idea where that folder is located.
Can one of you geniuses (that is NOT sarcasm, but a compliment) tell me #1 where to find this folder and if it can be edited and #1 how the heck did it get created in the first place? I am very happy it is there but am mostly just puzzled.

    Thanks guys and dolls.

Collect Your desired screen saver pictures in a subfolder in My Pictures or any other logical location.

Right-click on the Desktop > Properties > Screen Saver > choose My Pictures Slideshow > Settings > Browse to the desired folder.

    Screen Saver

Thanks Christer, that does work. However the question remains, how did that particular screen saver get created without any known action on my part?

Thanks Miz. I would still like to know how to edit/delete some of the photos in Screen Saver. If it is even possible. Where is the screen saver file located on HD?

These various picture folders should be in My Documents under whatever login My Documents and Folders you're on.

Add/delete whatever pictures you want to it.

In the display panel setting that Christer gave you the path for - you can browse to whatever folder you want to be your screen saver.

    Regards - Charles

Yes, I know I can delete from the individual folders, but I just want to delete from Screen saver.

There is no specific folder called "Screen saver ". Windows defaults to C:\Documents and Settings\ "User name "\ My documents\My pictures and how Windows samples pictures from that folder, I don't know.

Create a subfolder in My pictures, copy what You want to it and direct Windows to use that folder for the screen saver. If You want, You can name the subfolder "Screen Saver ".

There isn't one called screen saver unless you created one. The default screen saver on XP home is the XP logo which is a .bmp in WINDOWS as are the other individual pictures - all in :\WINDOWS. If you want them, your going to have to search for each one.

So click on one folder as your screen savor folder and add/delete the stuff from it.

    Regards - Charles

Thanks all, particularly all the way to Sweden. I sort of suspected that might be the only method but I wanted some of you good folks to confirm that, which you have done in your usual prompt, crisp and accurate manner.

    Thanks again.

C:\WINDOWS\system32. Look for .scr extensions. OOOOPS. Wrong answer. I misread the question. Sorry about that.

    Ricky,
What I did was to create a new folder in My documents and called it alt.pictures (but you can call it whatever). I then moved the pictures that I did not want shown in the screensaver to the alt.pictures folder. Hope this helps.

Conversely, you could have created a new folder called "Slideshow" (for instance) and moved (or copied) the pictures you DO want to display to it. Then, of course, you have to browse to the proper folder in the "My Pictures Slideshow" settings.
