Every since I've had my cable modem installed, I've been having a problem with "Msgsrv32.exe not responding" I've searched the MS knowledge base and haven't found any answers that apply to my situation. Has anyone else run into this type of problem ?

Check out this thread. It talks about problem with MSGSRV32. Was anything removed when the modem was installed?

Thanks, I've found and tried those options. Unfortunately, my system and motherboard don't have a setting to turn off ACPI. I sent an e-mail to the mother board manufacturer about this hoping for a work around, but so far no responce.

Dont know what type youre cable modem is so this is probably no help.Mine is external and can run off either USB or nics. USB was rubbish so after a week or so of helplines and head scratching I tried it out running it thro a network card and had no problems since.

PJ-UK That's the conclusion that I'm coming to. I have a Toshiba PCX 2000 USB/NIC since I don't have a NIC card, I'm using the USB connection. I've noticed that the modem seems to drop the connection to the PC periodically, so my next step was to get a NIC card. Glad for the Imput though, this is the first problem I've had with a USB connection, I was finding it hard to believe that it was the problem.

    Update

I installed a NIC card a couple of days ago. And so far no problems. So it would seem the problem was in the USB interface with the cable modem.

    Thanks to all who replied.
