As some of you know, I set up a home network between my Win2K and WinXP Home boxes a few weeks ago. At the time, I had to change the Norton firewall settings from block all to a more lenient configuration -- in order for the PCs to see each other.

The problem is -- Now, I am constantly being hit with inbound TCP requests on all sorts of ports (Win2K, my dial-up Internet machine, attached to network using DI-604). Every few minutes, Norton Firewall notifies me of inbound requests. I block all of them, of couse. The situation is VERY annoying.

Does anyone has suggestions on reconfiguring Norton so that I don't get these constant popups from the Firewall software?

    THANKS for your help!

There "should" be a setting to disable the Display of these notices. Have you looked in the settings?

If those are Program Control Alerts, then there is no way to "not get them" without blocking or allowing permanantly. You have to make a decision each time.

Intrusion alerts are possible to control.

    See this thread.
