Hi. I just setup my windows 95 again (see other posted thread by me) but It just has 16 colour and no sound. I had sound and video cards in before. Are they not usable anymore. If not how do i set them up? Thanx

My thought's are you'll need to install the drivers for your video card and sound card. If you don't know what they are, you'll need to shutdown, pull the power cord, open the box and get the info off the cards. One needs to be a little careful with static discharge while touching components while inside the box.
I don't suppose you made a startup disk before you reformated?

    That won't have your drivers.

On your desktop do a right click on on My Computer > Properties > Device Manager > Click the + on Display Adaptors. What is listed? Next: Click the + on Sound, Video. What is listed there? Are there any Flags on the devices?

Just the two above in the quote.
First thing is we want to see is if they have a yellow ! or a red X next to any device listed. They should be open already if they have either yellow or red marks. If they're not open, open the 2 devices and post what they are. Like the video device might show ATI 9600.....

Best I can come up with from here. It's loading only the basic video card and doesn't see the sound card. Maybe someone else can come up with a better choice.

Super VGA is a generic video driver 95 uses just to get you going.
Open a dos window and type in this command.
    debug
The prompt will change to a minus sign, then type this in and press Enter.
    d c000:0040
Now look to the far right, and your video card will be spelled out for you. Press q and press Enter to exit this.

The above link will show you what I mean, or use Belarc or Everest.
