I keep getting this error when trying to send a email to my hotmail account from my charter account.. does this error message mean anything to anyone?

    ---------------------------------------------------------------

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was 'crystispetsitting at hotmail.com'. Subject 'Fw: Reason For My Phone Call', Account: 'pop.charter.net', Server: 'mail.charter.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 #5.1.0 Address rejected.', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Possible that the header 'Fw: Reason For My Phone Call' is being recognised as spam and blocked ??

Try sending it with a different title.

Hey there! No, I just deleted the **** thing and haven't tried again. It was strange b/c I don't have spam software on here, it was going to another hotmail account and they do a good job of sorting bulk mail... so I don't know!!! I just deleted it and forgot about it, honestly, LOL!!!

Maybe I'm misreading something but shouldn't the rejected address, "crystispetsitting at hotmail.com" be "crystispetsitting@hotmail.com "?

    extra information

I was having the same problem. Had to change my outgoing SMTP server to something different than smtp.charter.net. They do not allow sending of e-mails for SPAM purposes at any location except from the Cable Modem at your house (or wherever). So, if you are at work, or a client location, you are *******. Not very portable...

    Resolving 550 Error

I had a similar issue after setting up Outlook 2002 on my boss' machine. When setting up an email account, I forgot to check "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication." Something this simple prevented him from sending mail to his secondary account and bounced it back with the error message "550 relaying is prohibited. "
