after doing all the critical updates, including some new aspi drivers to fix ezcd creator, windows xp will not shutdown. if i click shutdown, it simply reboots, from the login screen or from within windows. anyone know of a shutdown patch?

    Temporary Fix

I had the same problem when I had WindowsME. To turn of the computer, go through the normal procedure, but in that second before it re-boots, push in the On/Off switch on the tower and hold it in until the computer shuts down properly, takes 5 or 6 seconds if I remember.

Funny (sic) thing is, now I have WindowsXP, the computer shuts down normally !!

    Good Luck!

    Cheers Jay:)
