Cannot send nor receive email

    My son is operating Windows 98 and he cannot send nor receive email,
    also he cannot delete temp. files or defragment etc.

    Any suggestions?

    "Any suggestions?" Yep. Give us a more info like:

    1. What happens when he tries to send/receive email?
    2. Did his email work yesterday?
    3. What changes did he make to his system?
    4. Is this a new installation?
    5. Does he have all the acount info provided by the ISP?

    We worked on it for a while and finally pulled the plug. When we plugged
    it in again, we got the messsage for a modem error which we didn't get
    before. We did that over and everything worked. Pure luck I guess!.
