I am running XP and have trouble going to certain links. When my mouse goes over the link I get javascrip:JSP and a nuber. This does not happen on all links but does happen on multiple sites. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi fosters20 and welcome to the forum.

Assuming that you meant Javascript rather than Javascrip and that you are running IE as your browser, in the browser click on tools~internet options~advanced then scroll down a little and check the box to disable script debugging and uncheck the box to notify you of every script error.

What I think you are seeing is errors in someone's web page code. Nothing you could do about it so no need to be told about it.

If you are writing your own web pages you would want to have debugging enabled so you could find your errors but even then, once the pages were correct you'd probably turn it off again.

    fosters20--
I think I am reading your post a little different than Newt did.
Nothing wrong with seeing a "tool tip" (or information about the link) when you pass your cursor over a link.
What happens when you click on the link? If you cannot access the javascript site, then
    1) Are you right-clicking|Open in New Window, or left clicking to open? I find I cannot access javascript windows by right clicking.
    2) Perhaps your Scripting security settings are too high in IE Tools|Internet Options|Security tab|Custom Level. If they are at Disable, change to Enable or Prompt.

    Didn't work

Thanks for the tips guys but no luck. When I left click the link nothing happens, when I right click and open in a new window it doesn't pull up anything. Here is the error again:

javascript:JSP('complete013.jsp') sometimes it is scomplete and the number may change depending on the link. Here is the web page.

    http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/

5 out of the 6 links in the middle column give me this error.

Tried the URL you posted and got the same result - adding http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ to IE's Trusted Zone worked for me with my (high) level of security in IE.

Essentially the same suggestion, but PeteC's is probably safer since you are lowering the security only for the www.fafsa.ed.gov site.
Please let us know what worked, fosters20. ;)
