Nostromo N50 and WinXP problem

I purchased a Belkin Nostromo n50 game pad for my Dell Inspiron 8100(Win XP Home) several months ago. Unfortunately I've not been successful in getting it to function properly.
The Nostromo software will not consistently load game profiles and when it does it either locks up the PC immediately or when the game is started the game crashes. (And the games run fine when the gamepad is not used.)
I've uninstalled the thing a number of times and reinstalled it - with the same results. I've downloaded the latest version of the software and driver from Belkin - with the same results.

Is there anyone out there that has gotten one of these things to work with WinXP and if so how?

Well it looks like I finally fixed this thing. I downloaded the latest version of the Nostromo Profile Loader (version 2.3) and installed it yesterday (even though I'm positive I had done it before) because I apparently only had the 2.2 version.

Once I did this and rebooted it now works as it should. The odd thing is that the Profile Loader software still says that it is only on version 2.2 not the 2.3 I just installed. Oh well, as long as it works!!!!!
