sbc DSL and win xp pro

    i upgraded win xp home to xp pro,now i can't get online anymore.SBC SAYS I CAN'T USE winxp pro with the old enternet 300 software w/xp pro.i have two other computer's running xp pro and enternet 300 software and no problem.
    is win xp pro that different than xp home?i have called tech support for SBC three times.

    If it works on XP-home, it will work on Xp-pro.

    XP-home is simply an XP-Pro version where quite a few features have been disabled.

    I found that the Enternet 300 software was a bit fussy in some situations. A better idea is to buy a hardware router with the PPPOE option (most have this now). When you set up the router, you will set the username and password (from SBC) right into the router. Then get rid of the Enternet 300 software and let the router perform the PPPOE authentication. HTH. :eek:

    thanks guys

    i have done a lot of research on this dsl yahoo site and it tells me it's sbc's download of flash 6.0 is somehow causing this problem.after 7 call to sbc yahoo
    techs i'm still without browser hookup i can connect to enternet but can't browse.
