In my inbox, I have a separate folder for each year. At the start of a new year, I move the previous year's emails into the new folder. When I search for an email using the "Find" facility from the inbox, I always ensure the "Include subfolders" box is checked. It has worked perfectly for a couple of years, but now will often give me the message "An unknown error has occurred" when searching, and the search results shown have skipped some of the subfolders. When I get the error message, the search results will usually be for the Inbox and the 2001 folder only. If I point the search at any of the other subfolders individually rather than the inbox plus subfolders, it searches that folder with no problem, even when the overasll search has just skipped it.

Also, sometimes when I try to open an email from the list of emails found in a search, I get the message that the email cannot be displayed. If I restart OE and search again it will sometimes be OK, and if I restart the computer and search again, it will always be OK - all emails found will open perfectly. Also, if I make a note of the problem email shown on the list and then go to the inbox or subfolder and find that email directly, it will always open perfectly.

In other respects, OE functions perfectly. I run OE 6 with the version number shown as 6.00.2800.1123, whatever that means. Operating system is XP pro on a Toshiba Satellite Pro.

    Grateful for any suggestions.
