Look in Kelly's-Korner for some possible reasons and solutions. Scroll to "Shutdown" after jumping to "S ".

happens often to me, not always thought

and i set all the reccomended tweaks for time to wait to kill apps,

considerating that my xp pro is slow also on boot when connecting to the network, i could have a lunch on restarting....

    this MUST be fixed!

    Problem Resolved

The problem was that some stupid tweaking software had turn-on the setting to DELETE PAGEFILE at shutdown without letting me know.

Deleting the pagefile at shutdown would delay shutdown. Thanks for posting back with the problem and your solution. :)

    Yes,
I remember reading, that tweak will slow down shutdown. It's a big file to purge. ;)

I looked at your site. Lots of talk about a listing of the best Free software available. I saw three obvious links on the left; to one that offers a free trial (hard to find out how long), another that offers games at $10 each, and yet another that does claim to offer unlimited, free, legal downloads of all sorts of audio and video CDs which I absolutely don't believe.

I'm locking this thread and asking that you remove that link from your forum signature.
