Re-partitioning Question

    how would i repartition my hard drive without uninstalling the os and deleting all the files and programs?
    ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED :D :) :rolleyes: :cool: :p ;)

    You would need to use a third party app such as Partition Magic 8 by Powerquest. Best done through DOS rather than Windows.

    No doubt there will be other views on this, so hold back until others have posted.

    Partition Magic would do the job for you, and is the better choice for most.
    There are free dos based programs that can accomplish this, but require a good knowledge of system operations to be used successfully. There are some preparations to be done with these, not done correctly can cause some hairs to exit your head.

    i found that partitions are not stable if you dont format after repartitioning,

    so i suggest to make an image, re partition the disk, format and reinstall the image.

    Unless you have to modify partitions other than active part, then just move data elsewhere, format then move back data.

    Would you care to elaborate on this? - what exactly do you mean by 'not stable'?

    that a couple of times that i partitioned the disk,pm 7, without format, i got partitions error and lost data,
    never had problems when i formatted.

    Thanks - not hit that problem with PM 7 to date myself.

    I've been using PM8 - easy to use, and does the job.
