Virus in Restore

    Trend Micro online scan found TROJ-ISTBAR.N in c:\_Restore\Archive\FS129.CAB but can't remove it. I tried boot to safe mode but IE wouldn't work so I can't scan in safe. How can I delete the virus from the protected _restore .
    I have restore disabled. Thanks :)

    so just disable it then you might go do another scan, then when all clean re-enable system restore

    Hey Lonny,
    I had already seen and tried that. After disabling restore and going to safe mode the housecall scan wasn't available because IE couldn't access the internet. Symantec dosen't seem to know this exists. The NAV scan misses it.

    Those Instructs are a little misseading sorry, there for trend anti virus users not the online.

    No anti virus program nor any other scanner can do anything in the system restore folders. Simply disable it then go get another online :)

    they cannot clean or delte things in sun java's cache either so if its installed clear its cache manualy.
