    Hi
Found this really good ( or so I thought, before I purchased it ) software for removing all sorts of nasties. It's Spyware Eliminator. Now this picked up everything else that adaware / S and D/ Spyblaster could not. Programs easy to use and nice interfaces etc.
    Problem. It doesn't work properly.!!!
You have to download the trial version first and then when you've bought your copy, you're given your registration license number. You enter the number and voila, a registered copy all ready for you to customize for scheduling , options, settings. Ok. So I had to reboot my pc for some reason or other and when it had rebooted, the spyware eliminator came up as copy corrupted. Contacted Aluria (makers) and they were really efficient and sent me a reply email in two days. Tried their patch and thought great it's all working......Until the program went mad and was scanning every 15 mins !!!!
The only way I could stop this was to uninstall the software and remove any trace of it from my pc and contact Aluria again. Still waiting for some reply , it's been about 5 days now.
Anyone else got this problem ????????

It is hard to find anything better than SpybotS&D and AdAware. As with all spyware detectors you do have to keep their reference files updated. Perhaps that is why SE found things they did not.

    Hi Welshjim
Thanks for your reply. I do keep both Adaware and S and D upto date along with my virus and firewall programs. Before purchasing Spyware Eliminator, I made sure that everything was updated and ran all tests available. ( including virus and trojan tests).
I came across Spyware Eliminator by chance and downloaded the trial and was impressed that it had detected the spyware programs. I made a note of the subjects and tried to find them using S and D and Adaware, and they still couldn't trace them, I was able to trace them via regedit though and deleted them that way, which took a fair amount of time !! That's when I thought that by a couple of clicks I could get rid of these unwanted articles instead of trawling through regedit everytime. There are a lot of unhappy people that have purchased this software and are getting no replies to their questions ( myself included ) :(
