    Hi

I’ve got a bit of a mystery here and hope you can solve it for me.

I reformatted my pc and loaded everything up and when it comes to adjusting the system restore , there is only a box that says ‘do you wish to turn off system restore?’ and the size of the restore in mb’s bar for adjustment. This is the version that I’ve always had. Xp home sp1

I also reformatted my son’s pc and after it was completed, I went to his system restore part and noticed he had a 'various drives 'dialogue box, that you can turn off or just disable. ( Like you have shown on your web page ). So it looked nothing at all like mine. Thing being, we both have identical operating systems and it seems strange that he’s got all the options and I have not.

I know ( and I nag him ) that he doesn’t keep up to date with patching and updates, but is that where the mystery lies??? I almost always patch when the fixes are issued as we have a home network set up with just the two pcs.
Would appreciate any suggestions and replies

    hello almalexia,

Does the other system have more than 1 drive or partition?

I just looked at a system w/one drive and one partition and the dialog box looks the way you describe it - no "drives" entry.

My system has two drives and I have that dialog.

    Regards - Charles

    Hi Charles
Come to think about it, my pc has a hidden partition and then a partition for c drive (hdd)
My son's pc was one that I built for him and only has the one partition, so I guess that's the answer then ??? So if I made a 2nd partition, then his display would be come like mine??
    Thanks for your response :)
