Well, at least some are new to me. Some work only in premium versions of AA.

The plug ins offered for download are for stopping Microsoft Windows Messenger (That's the IM one) from running with OE, Stopping the Windows Messenger Service -that's the networking notification tool that became exploited by spammers- (In Admin Tools >Services) Both of these fixes can be done from XP. The VX2 cleaner fixes a bug in AdAware and should be used, I suppose.

Regarding the above three, I doubt the average user is going to be able to get much benefit from knowing all that data, if they can even interpret it. I figure Noahdfear will have it installed before night'e end, maybe martinr121, too!

Every page that I looked at, to get a description of the plug in, prompted me to download Macromedia Flash and trust it completely forever and ever. Besides being annoying, isn't that spyware? So, since I consistently refused, what did I miss? I got text and graphics to my satisfaction. What's with the Macromedia? Isn't that Shockwave? The kids' computer has all that flashy stuff on it, I don't. Why is Lavasoft teaming up with Macromedia? I've been using AdAware Plus for 2 years, and they have had "issues ".

If you load SpywareBlaster and use their "Flash Killer" option (under Tools) to turn off the app, you can have the best of all worlds IMO.

. Flash is loaded so you don't get prompted.
. Flash will not run if you have the box ticked to stop it. No fussing; just silently won't run.
. Takes just a second to turn it on for things you do want to see. Then another second to turn it back off after you are done.

Wife likes to send me links to funny Flash thingies so I keep SpywareBlaster in my quick links section for easy on/easy off.
