I downloaded an episode of the X-Men from Bearshare. Its in .avi format. I want to watch it, but I can't get the video to show. Is there someway I can get it to work? I do have the latest version of Media Player. I also have Quicktime (which says it can't play the .avi) and RealOnePlayer (Free version).

Neither the RealPlayer nor the Windows Media Player play the video.

    Please help if you can.

    Thanks! :)

    Hi jediliz
What are the chances that you got a corrupted download? have you tried this avi on a different machine? Were you able to view avi's previously?

just tried it in QuickTime and it said it couldn't open it because the file name was bad?

Maybe I'll try downloading it again.

That may be your best bet before messing with codecs and such? Please post back and tell us how it goes for you.

I can open it, but I don't see any Video. All I have is sound.

Someone else was having this same problem - I'll see his/her problem has been solved yet.

okay, I opened a music video I had downloaded. I can see *that* video. I just can't see the x-men show....

are there any other free media type players out there?

    Hi again jediliz
Being that you are able to view other *.avi's, doesn't that suggest that this x-men one may be corrupt?

possibly, Daizy. I'm planning to try to download it again.

I can hear it, just not see it, I may try again once more before I decide to try downloading it again.
