hi guys. I recently installed windows xp prof and after browsing a bit on the net with ie 6.0 a strange problem appeared. Every time I start the computer and log on as my user name, I get a window saying: "You or a program requested information from www2.flingstone.com ", and a dial-up window. Now, when I do ctrl+alt+delete, i terminate the process "Ratautou.exe" and the window closes, so I figure that program has something to do with it. Nonetheless, the same window appears every time I log on. What can I do to disable it ?
    Thanks !!!

    Stefano :)

    stefano19 - Welcome to the Board :)

You probably have spyware/malware of some sort on your computer, probably a dialler. A Google search for that URL or Ratautou.exe brings up no hits.

Firstly download Ad-aware, immediately update it, configure it as here. Then download Spybot (Links to both under Quicklinks in my signature) Run both, delete all Ad-aware finds and those items in green found by Spybot.

If this fails to solve the problem download Startup Control Panel by Mike Lin and disable the start up of www2.flingstone.com or Ratautou.exe, if present.

    Post back with your results.

I think maybe what you have is Flingstone Bridge . According to the article there should be an entry for it in add>remove programs. If it's there uninstall it. Even if it's there and you're able to uninstall it you should still take Pete's advice and run Ad-aware and Spybot anyway.
