For a week now, I get a failed new installed hardware icon when I boot up(new hardware icon with a red circle and slash).I havent installed anything new.I have swapped hard drives a couple of times, but when I do it installs without any problem. The icon appears then goes away like it's supposed to.I've checked everything I can think of.I come up clean on all virus and spyware scans. Registry is clean too. Any ideas?

    Thanks, Mark

Have a look in Event viewer immediately after booting up - and before clicking on the icon for possible clues. Not come across this before.

    Hi again Pete,
Sorry I haven't beek back sooner but I've had a lot going on.
The event viewer showed three errors at bootup. The first having to do with the machine being configuried for net logon and me not using it. I have to have a look at that but at least I have a starting point now. Thanks for aiming me in the right direction. :)
