Hope I am in the right area :)

I have a silly question - what is the difference between Winamp and Windows Media Player. I have both installed on my system and I'm not sure if I need both of them or just one.

    Thanks

    kimberlee...

If you just looking to play MP3's or sound bytes and your thinking either Winamp or Media player then, IMHO, Winamp is the way to go. I use Winamp for my sounds and Window Media Player for my movies.

You could also use the free software Irfanview which also does both Movies and MP3's, and a whole bunch more.

One of the best things about WinAmp is www.shoutcast.com a great variety of internet radio. I like Big Blue Radio "Audiocandy ".

I use WinAmp as my default MP3 player, and am very happy with it.

Not much into mp3 but i use winamp to play midi files. The midis are
great for instrumental background music and i love the visualizations.

WMP is ok, i guess but i think it has some short-comings that make other
players better. Just my personal opinion.
