Hi Dennis, Do you have a file logos.sys on your root hard drive ?
If not, let us know. If yes, in which folder is it and on which drive ?
If you shut off the PC without seeing the shutdown screen, do you
have problems at the next boot-up ? That may tell us if
    1. the logos.sys is not present, OR
    2. you have other shutdown problems
    regards

    Safe to shut Off

Found logos.sys fie in C:\WINDOWS. If I wait for 10 seconds or so after seeing the "windows is shutting Down" logo and then turn off the computer there is no problem with the next boot. Such as scandisk running or a boot up into safe mode. The power switch is a SPST ON/OFF switch and not a momentary on/off switch as in newer computers and so therefore MUST be manually pushed to go into power off. The logo "It is now safe to turn off your computer" never shows up.
