Some time back I had entered a command, I believe entered at the Command Prompt, and gave information such as; Homepath, Processor, UserDomain, UserName and etc. I have a print-out of the information, a friend saw it and she would like to see the results of her machine, but I can't recall what the command was and whether it was entered at Run or Commapnd Prompt. (It had to be printed in landscape mode.)

If any of you know of this I'd appreciated the information.

If that is it (and surely looks like it) then the easiest way to capture the information is
    - start~run~cmd to open a 'DOS' window
    - play with the command and switches until you have the info you want being displayed
    - send the output to a suitable file

Using the default which shows your local PC and has the results in a list you would do as follows:
systeminfo > c:\sysinfo.txt and the results would be saved in a text file by that name.

Hi Johanna and Newt:...Interesting sites, but not what I wanted.

The copy I have has C:\ Command Prompt in the title bar.
The rest of the information is listed in white text on a black background. Besides what I mentioned above it lists the HOMEPATH, LOGONSERVER, OS, PRROCESSOR AND etc. The fist item listed is ComSpec - maybe I'll punch that in and see what show up. Thank you!

(May also have picked it off another board, but not knowing what it called ???)

I don't understand what you mean by "command prompt ", in this context. In XP, click Run type "cmd" sans quotes
and a box comes up. If you enter the command (from the link I posted) the way Newt described, you will have a text file. I don't know why it would have to be printed in "landscape ", either?

At the top of the print it just labeled *Command Prompt*, in what I would call the title bar. Typing *cmd* in Run is not what I'm looking for either.

Why I printed in landscape was to accommodate the the size as shown, otherwise if I copied to Word I would have to reset the margin and text size.

If you're interested in what it is - I'll try to scan and post it.

Here is a snipped of systeminfo from my PC. It certainly sounds like what you spoke of.

    Hi Trident

I have created a shortcut on my desktop to load the System Information program. If you have a a normal loaded XP system follow this path ....
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\MSInfo
Right click on "msinfo32.exe" and choose "Send to" option and select
"DeskTop - create short cut ". With program loaded you can browse all the System Information screen views, export information to a file or print it out. There are also additional programs that can be launched from this view.

Newt, I'm curious about why you show 1,151MB RAM, while Johanna and I show 1,023MB. Just memory from different manufacturers? I have two Kingston 512MB chips.

    Jim,
Newt & I are not playing
We rendezvous in complete seriousness. At least on the BBS. Decorum is important, ya know. But, off the BBS...well... ;) anything goes! :)

2 512Mb and a 128Mb that I had before the last memory upgrade when I only had a pair of 128s. 3 slots available so I just kept the little fella.

Oh well, I never was that good at math, but 1151 minus 1023 is obviously 128. In this day and age of large RAM chips, that never occurred to me.
