This PC is an Athlon. It has a keyboard, mouse , printer , monitor, LAN card,
power speakers, UPS, WebCam, external modem + extension 'phone,
    microphone and so on.
If I look behind this desk, I get into a panic. If I have to take the box
to the shop and disconnect then reconnect everything when I get it back,
I need a lot of time and tranquilisers.
How many years do you think we must wait for a cordless PC with a
single mains plug to connect everything ? It cannot be all that difficult
    to develop this.
    regards

Get a package of stick-on labels, specifically the long narrow ones intended for file folders. Fold a label around each wire, near the connector, sticking the ends to each other so you have a tab sticking out. Use an indelible marker pen to write what each wire is supposed to plug into. If necessary, cut a label into short bits and paste them next to the various sockets, writing the corresponding identification on those labels as well. This saves a lot of aggravation when you're re-connecting all that electronic spaghetti.

Because of the dogs and rotten kids that try to hide under my desk, I use twist ties to gather up extra lengths of the cords and secure them. They still tangle (in the dark, while I'm sleeping) but they aren't such a mess to sort.

Wireless technology sounds neat, but I wonder about security, and how I could be sure a device is physically disconnected? With the cords, it's easy enough to be SURE.

    Use a laptop, much better.
No cables for keyboard, monitor, speaker, mic, modem, even mouse if you want.
